Church of England Diocese of Southwark Peckham, St. Saviour

Copleston Church (St Saviour Peckham)

The Copleston Church is as unique as the area it serves. The church is as large as the area it serves, and the worshipping community comes from Champion Hill, Peckham, Nunhead, and further afield, who are drawn to its warm, friendly and generous atmosphere.

In 1978 the building was converted into a community centre, which hosts a profusion of events at the front, and there a central worship area shared by the Anglicans and the nearby Hanover United Reformed Church at the heart of the building.

The congregation is multi-cultural, fully inclusive, and children are especially welcome.

Sundays are a mix of Anglican and URC services. Why not join us for a relaxed, open and vibrant church, that is very friendly and outgoing.

Ash Wednesday Service

26 Feb 2020, 8 p.m. for 1h

Copleston Road

Join us in the heart of Peckham for the start of Lent, as we hold a service of Ashing at Copleston Church, Peckham.

Ash Wednesday emphasises a dual encounter: we confront our own mortality and confess before God within the community of faith. The form and content of the service focus on the dual themes of sin and death in the light of God's redeeming love in Jesus Christ.

The Ashing service will start at 8pm, on Wednesday 26 February.
