Church of England Diocese of Oxford St. Peter Furze Platt

Maidenhead: St Peter's Church

You are welcome here!

Come and explore what a life lived with Jesus is all about. Every Sunday at 10am our service is live-streamed at: https://stpetersmaidenhead.online.church/

You can also catch up on previous services, activities for our young people, other news, and more information by visiting our YouTube Channel.

What’s On?

Singing is back! We are now once again able to worship the Lord with our voices as well as our hearts. You will also no longer need to pre-register for Sunday services, but can turn up on the day. We welcome you to our weekly 10am Service at St Peter’s, and our 11am Communion Service at our sister church, St Mark’s, on the fourth Sunday of the month. We look forward to welcoming you and worshipping with you!

We also want to reassure you that although restrictions are relaxing, the health and safety of our church family and visitors remains a priority. We will continue following good practice, ensuring good ventilation through our buildings, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and providing hand sanitiser. Whilst the nation adjusts to this next stage, we are encouraging the use of facemasks inside the building and will review this at the end of the summer. We are also offering different seating options, for those that are happy to sit with friends, and those that wish to remain socially distanced. We want to make Sundays as comfortable as possible for everyone.

We are also pleased to announce that we will  now be serving tea and coffee after the service. Provided the weather is good, refreshments will be served outside.

For those who can’t make our in-person services, you can still join us online for our 10am service from St Peter’s via stpetersmaidenhead.online.church ,or through our YouTube channel. Don’t forget you can also catch up on previous talks through our weekly podcast.

However, as well as our continuing weekly services, there is also a lot more going on that you can get involved with:

Our small groups help us to grow spiritually, strengthen relationships and build community.

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring questions of life, faith and meaning for those interested in finding out more about Jesus and the Christian faith.

There are opportunities to volunteer and make a difference in the local community by providing practical support and phone contact for those who are isolated.

To keep up to date with all that is happening in the life of our church, contact our church office and subscribe to our mailing list.

The on-site Church Office is not currently open. If you need to contact us in relation to any pastoral, or other matter, please contact us through our church office on 01628 784053, email us on [email protected],  or through the  'Get in Touch' page.

The parish of Furze Platt is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The Diocese of Oxford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

'Church Together’ is a coming together of our weekly online service and the in-person service. Whether you prefer to gather in the church building for worship or join us from the comfort of your own home, we are one church, worshipping together!

During the summer holiday period, our service pattern will alternate normal services, with children and young peoples groups for in-person attendees during the service, and all-age services. Communion will be available during the services on 15th August and 5th September.

You can join us online either via our Youtube channel, or via our website, through 'More about this event' below.
