Church of England Diocese of Oxford Shrivenham

About Us

St Thomas Watchfield is part of the parish of Shrivenham with Watchfield & Bourton in the Shrivenham & Ashbury Benefice.

We are in the process of appointing a new Incumbent, who will live in Shrivenham.

The Ministry Team consists of a House for Duty Priest/Associate Vicar, Revd Norma Fergusson who lives in Ashbury, two Licensed Lay Ministers, two retired clergy, and an Authorised Minister. There are other lay members who help lead Family Worship and Morning Prayer.

We are a friendly and welcoming church offering a more traditional style of worship, using the Book of Common Prayer.

Sunday services start at 9am and alternate between Matins (1st & 3rd Sundays) and Holy Communion (2nd & 4th Sundays).

The present Church of St Thomas was built in the 1800s but this was not the first as an older church was demolished in 1788.
