Speaker: The Revd Polly Faulkner, Racial Justice Adviser for the Oxford Diocese. It will provide an opportunity to develop an understanding of unconscious bias, our tendency to make judgements based on prejudice and assumptions, rather than indisputable facts and data.
Polly has worked in social justice addressing inequality for over 40 years. Her background is in advice, social justice and mental health. Among other awards, Polly has won Gold & Silver Radio Academy Awards for social justice projects which she has led with BBC Radio Berkshire. Last year she won an NHS Grass Roots Community Award for her contribution to the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of the local community. Polly is a calypsonian, Mum of five and grandmother of four. She describes her family as her heartbeat.
