Music in lockdown

St Augustine's is open to the public every day and all services continue as normal within the current Government regulations for places of worship during the pandemic.

While congregational singing is not currently permitted, the regulations do allow up to three people to sing or chant during an act of worship. Within these limits we are able to continue to have sung services every Sunday with the assistance of individual choir members

At the Sung Eucharist we are currently using some of the ancient plainsong settings of the mass which are well suited to solo voices.

Evensong is currently all sung to Gregorian tones from the Briggs & Frere Psalter.
