Aythorpe Roding: St Mary the Virgin

The parish of Aythorpe Roding is believed to have been named after an ancient possessor of the land in the time of King Edward 1. The small 13th century church is located well away from and to the west of the present village which is spread out with no defined centre. Its quiet, isolated location provides a wonderful place of peaceful reflection.

We meet for worship monthly and work closely with our neighbouring parish of High Roding for shared services at Easter, Harvest and Christmas.

Safeguarding

Our parish of Aythorpe Roding: St Mary the Virgin is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Chelmsford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."
