About Us
WELCOME
Welcome to those who are single, married, divorced, widowed, gay, confused, filthy rich, comfortable, or dirt poor. Welcome if you are North Chingford, South Chingford, not Chingford, or just passing by. Welcome if you can sing like Pavarotti or can’t sing a note. Welcome if you’re ‘just browsing,’ just woke up, or just got out of prison. Welcome if you’re more Christian than the Archbishop of Canterbury, or haven’t been in church since little Jack’s christening. Welcome if you are still in recovery or still addicted. Welcome if you’re having problems or you’re down in the dumps or if you don’t like ‘organised religion’, if you blew all your money on the horses, if you work too hard, don’t work, don’t know anything about ‘church’ or are only here because grandma is in town and she wanted to go to church. Welcome if you could use a prayer right now, if you had religion shoved down your throat as a child or if you’ve lived here all your life just never been in. Welcome seekers and doubters, saints and sinners, regulars, visitors, friends and strangers.
Chingford Old Church, dedicated to All Saints, is a friendly and welcoming congregation of Chingford Parish. It has been at the heart of the community for 1000 years. The parish is in catholic tradition of the Church of England though a range of traditions are provided for.
There is lots going on for all ages,
Our Sunday morning worship is centred on the Parish Eucharist, with music led by the organ. There is provision for school age children at the Sunday Club and for play facilities for younger children.
The Parish has an excellent choral tradition with several choirs, all of which regularly sing in cathedrals throughout the United Kingdom and have undertaken singing tours in Europe and the USA.
The Daily Offices are said or sung each day and midweek Eucharists are held at the Parish Church on Thursday and Saturday, with a further Eucharist on Wednesdays here at the Old Church.. Please see our website for up to date information.
The Parish Church is known locally as 'The Church on the Green' and along with All Saints, Chingford Mount, known locally as 'The Old Church' forms the Parish of Chingford.
