Commemorative Service 26 April 2026

Sunday 26th April 2026 - Gallipoli Chapel, Memorial Service

The service will take place at Holy Trinity Church, Southend Crescent, Eltham, SE9 2SD. The service commences at 10.00 am.

The Chapel was created by Henry Hall, who served as an Army Chaplain for the 29th Division at Gallipoli. On his return to his parish, he converted the chapel in memory of all those who died or were wounded at Gallipoli. Every year since 1917 the church has held a memorial service to their memory on the nearest Sunday to Anzac Day.

This Commemoration is part of the Eucharist Service, including Communion. The service is open to all without prior booking. The preacher will be the Right Revd Alastair Cutting, Bishop of Woolwich. The service will include references to the fallen in the campaign and there will be a wreath laying ceremony, the last post followed by refreshments in the hall.
