You may not normally come to church, but would you — or any of your friends — be sad if St James had to shut? As the number of regular attendees dwindles, we sometimes wonder how we can meet our obligations as a charity, and who we can ask when something goes wrong. Perhaps you, or someone you know, would like to help us keep going.

Where we could use a hand

• A head for numbers — the treasurer would welcome an assistant
• Handy with a hammer, screwdriver or paintbrush, and willing to help when needed
• Fit enough to help move tables or put up marquees for fundraising events
• IT skills, and would enjoy giving us a presence on social media
• Other ideas for publicising and advertising what we do
• Ideas for fundraising
• Any other talent you would like to offer

You do not have to be a churchgoer

Not for any of these. All it takes is a liking for this beautiful old building and a wish to see it thrive.
