Please join us for this special choral service to dedicate ourselves and our new lighting to God, to see it fully in use, and to give thanks for the huge number of people who have helped in so many ways to bring the project to fruition – regulatory bodies, designers, contractors, grant-givers, and all of you who have supported the work with your practical help, your donations, your suggestions, and most importantly your prayers. The service will include the first full performance of Three Spark Motets, with music composed by Brian Moles to words by Paula Griffiths in memory of Chris Ferland, together with well-known hymns and Bible readings on the theme of Light.

Followed by refreshments and a demonstration of the lighting. Everyone welcome.

St Mary's Church Saffron Walden

St Mary's is the Anglican parish church in the historic market town of Saffron Walden in north west Essex. Committed to the welcome and safeguarding of all, we are a community of all ages and backgrounds who worship God in a wide range of services. Our mission is to share God's love and to invite everyone to follow Jesus Christ with us. Ours is a beautiful church where the Christian faith has been celebrated for over 800 years, and which has a strong musical tradition and a large robed choir. We are one of the 12 churches within the Saffron Walden and Villages Team Ministry.

Our church is open every day of the year from around 10am until about 4pm.
