A RIDE & STRIDE event is taking place with several of the churches in the Saffron Walden and Villages Team are taking part, including St Mary’s Church, Saffron Walden, where there will also be refreshments available 11am-3pm for any participants.
Churches of all denominations take part from all over the country (and a few in Europe and the US) and aim to contact as many churches as possible, by bike or on foot, from northernmost Scotland to Cornwall. Ride & Stride began in Suffolk in 1981 as a sponsored bike ride and quickly became a national event. Over 30 counties now take part. Supported by the National Churches Trust and in partnership with county-based local churches trusts, Ride + Stride opens the doors to some of the UK’s most rare and unusual places of worship.

St Mary's Church Saffron Walden

St Mary's is the Anglican parish church in the historic market town of Saffron Walden in north west Essex. Committed to the welcome and safeguarding of all, we are a community of all ages and backgrounds who worship God in a wide range of services. Our mission is to share God's love and to invite everyone to follow Jesus Christ with us. Ours is a beautiful church where the Christian faith has been celebrated for over 800 years, and which has a strong musical tradition and a large robed choir. We are one of the 12 churches within the Saffron Walden and Villages Team Ministry.

Our church is open every day of the year from around 10am until about 4pm.
