Getting here

We are a welcoming, friendly Church. We try to have as wide an appeal as possible. Music, for example, is a mixture of the traditional and modern.
In recent years the Church itself has become increasingly involved in community projects.
St Leonard's has an Evangelical tradition. We try to cater for all ages, and while at the moment we don't have special groups for children on Sunday, we always welcome children, and have regular services which are designed to appeal to them.
The church building dates back to the 13th Century, and on the inside has very comfortable seating, and many other interesting features.
The church is well-known in Essex for possessing the 'Nelson Relics'. They are items of furniture - including a table where we serve tea and coffee - which belonged to the Rev. Alexander Scott, a former Vicar of Southminster. Scott was chaplain on board the 'Victory' at the battle of Trafalgar, was a friend of Nelson, and was with him when he died.
