Lord God, up from this Holy ground we pray you grow your church

This is just a holding page at the moment, for an idea to be explored: The belief that only God grows the church, the belief that if we want our benefice churches to ‘grow’, whatever that means, then it is only through God’s will.

Pray for discernment as to what this means.

Pray we might mutually support one another.

Pray for God to show us what we might do in his name.

We can labour to help the church to grow, but it is God who gives us what we need; it is God alone who grows the church. (I have written more about this here in the June 2026 substack benefice letter from the rector)
