With the spire that stands out as a beacon for miles around, whatever it is that you value about the beautiful church you should always know that you are welcome inside. Prayer, peace, worship, and the beauty of holiness: come and see.
St John the Baptist with Our Lady and St Laurence is the Parish Church for Thaxted and the surrounding land. We are rooted in a liberal Anglo-Catholic tradition of the Church of England, and deeply rooted in our local community. Prayer and the sacraments are our bedrock for the inclusivity, hospitality and the welcome we hope are consistent in our DNA. A lot happens in our church; at the heart of it all is our faith in God and love for him. As we seek to serve our community and wider world we only wish to show love for our neighbours and God.
Along with Great and Little Sampford, Radwinter, and Hempstead, we are within a benefice of five friendly churches in rural North West Essex.
