About Us

A warm welcome in the name of Jesus Christ awaits you at St Thomas’ church.

We love meeting people at St Thomas’ and whether a regular worshiper, visiting for a wedding or attending one of our social events we hope you will feel at home.

St Thomas’ is a little gem of a church. An unexpected oasis in the Epping Forest area nestled just between Waltham Abbey and Epping Town. We are proud of our history and traditions whilst seeking to embrace new ways of being church and community.
We are part of the Waltham Holy Cross Benefice which, as well as St Thomas’, includes Waltham Abbey, Holy Innocents Church, High Beach and St Lawrence, Ninefields.

Family Communion every Sunday at 9.15am. All are warmly welcomed.

More details about the church and its community are available on our website at https://stthomaschurchupshire.com/

"The parish of Upshire: St Thomas is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs.

Our PSO is Sue Mckinley. She can be contacted at church, or by phoning the Benefice Office 01992767897, or by email [email protected]

The Diocese of Chelmsford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."
