Come and join us tomorrow 14 December for our Parish Mass for the 3rd Sunday of Advent, when we honour the great prophet who made straight the way of the Lord, his cousin John the Baptist. It is also called Gaudete Sunday, the Latin for Rejoice. The introit is 'Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice', and the liturgical colour is rose. The rose candle on the Advent Wreath is lit with the prayer:

'God our Father,
you gave to Zechariah and Elizabeth in their old age
a son called John.
He grew up strong in spirit,
prepared the people for the coming of the Lord,
and baptised them in the Jordan to wash away their sins.
Help us, who have been baptised into Christ,
to be ready to welcome him into our hearts,
and to grow strong in faith by the power of the Spirit.
We ask this through Jesus Christ,
the light who is coming into the world. AMEN

All are welcome either in person or on the livestream at 10.30 a.m.

St Michael and all Angels' is a friendly multicultural church located in the heart of Walthamstow, very close to the vibrant high street.

We are currently in interregnum at St Michael's but are looking forward to our new full-time priest very, very soon.
