A chance to meet at St Andrew’s weekly – bring along knitting, sewing, crafts of any kind and spend a couple of hours in good company. No particular skills required, you are welcome whether you have nimble fingers or butterfingers. And if you don’t have a project of your own to bring, there are always blanket squares to be sewn up, or the chance just to sit and chat. Meetings, open to anyone from our three churches and our local community, are held Tuesdays in St Andrew’s Centre, 2 – 4 pm: no charge, and refreshments provided.
The Church gathers primarily for worship, to celebrate all that God is and all that God has done, to be drawn into the life of the Trinity: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We offer God songs and words of praise in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. We attend to God’s words in Scripture. We gather around the table of the Lord in the Holy Communion. We offer prayers for our own needs and the needs of the world. When we do this we join our prayers – thin and weak as they often are – with the great hymn of praise of the Church in both earth and heaven, in time and in eternity.
The Eucharist or Holy Communion is celebrated by the whole people of God gathered for worship. The ministry of the members of the congregation is expressed through their active participation together in the words and actions of the service, but also by some of them reading the Scripture passages, leading the prayers of intercession, and, if authorized, assisting with the distribution of communion.
We are holding three Fairtrade Coffee Mornings in the Parish during Fairtrade Fortnight. Please do come along to learn more about Fairtrade and to support their work.

This year our Harvest Festival services will be held on Sunday 5 October (St Mary's - 9.30 am, St Andrew's - 10.00 am, St Catherine's - 11.00 am).
As in previous years, we are collecting Harvest goods for The Gateway Project, the Food Bank in Wickford. The Food Bank are grateful for donations in the following categories:

Coffee
Tinned vegetables
Tinned potatoes
Tinned tomatoes
Pasta sauce

Marmalade
They are also grateful to receive donations of toiletry items - shower gel, deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes, and feminine hygiene products.
A youth discussion group meeting monthly on Fridays, 7.00 pm, St Andrew's Centre. All discussion topics chosen by the group. All teens and twenties are welcome.

Find out about & experience Christian Mindfulness by joining us at during the Coffee Morning at St Catherine’s Wickford on the first Saturday in the month (9.30 am to 12 noon) & also at one of our regular 10-minute reflection & Christian mindfulness sessions between 10.00 am & 12 noon at St Andrew’s Wickford on the second Saturday in each month.

David is a singer songwriter who is Wickford born and bred. He has been writing and performing songs for over 30 years, but the last few years, in particular, have been very productive. He will be performing new and recent material in this unique acoustic space. On this occasion, he will perform while a selection of his paintings are also exhibited in the church.

Adam Atkinson is the Bishop of Bradwell. Hear him read a selection of his poetry which has been used in public and liturgical settings.
A series of sonnets for Lent and Easter were published in ‘Who Do You Say I Am?’ in 2024. These sonnets explore discipleship in today’s world, touching on contemporary themes such as identity, truth telling, violence, abuse, racism, and belonging.
