The Licensing of the Revd Tola Badejo: Sunday 24 December 2023

We are delighted that on Christmas Eve morning the Rt Revd Christopher Chessun, Bishop of Southwark, and The Venerable Alastair Cutting, Archdeacon of Lewisham and Greenwich, licensed the Revd Adetola Omobolaji Badejo to serve as Priest-in-Charge at St Nicholas's, thus ending the 'vacancy' that followed Tim Linkens's move to Hull.

Tola will be dividing his time between our parish and his existing role as a hospital chaplain, and we are confident that his wide experience in extra-parochial ministry and social work will be a benefit and a blessing to us all. We were honoured to be joined at his licensing by Alex Achebe, a Diocesan Synod representative for the Charlton Deanery, and several of the clergy who have supported us over the last fifteen months, as well as by civic representatives: Councillor Dominic Mbang,  Mayor of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, and John Fahy and Odette McGahey, the councillors for the Kidbrooke Park ward.

Below are links to some photos of Tola's licensing service, a joyous and yet profoundly serious occasion.
