Welcome to St James the Great, Birstall and Our Lady and St Nicholas, Wanlip.
We are the Anglican Churches in the area and serve the people of Birstall and Wanlip alongside our fellow Christians, the Methodists and the Roman Catholics, confessing together our faith in God through his son Jesus Christ.
Our vision is to be: An open Christian community where people feel loved, respected and free to be fully themselves!
We look forward to your joining us for a service or an activity or a group where you will be made very welcome.
The parish of Birstall: St James the Great is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Leicester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services
You are very welcome at our Advent and Christmas services and events – bring your family and friends or come along on your own. Whether it will be your first time at church or you have been before, we look forward to welcoming you!
