Friday Food was nominated for a community inspiration award sponsored by Chorus Homes and the Hunts Post, and we were thrilled to win the award in the Community Group category.

Beginning only one year ago with just two 'guests', we now cater for as many as 25 friends who enjoy the food, the friendship and chat with everyone in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We meet every Friday from 6pm in the Church Room behind the church. 

We are supported by 'Fareshare' through which we are able to collect food that would otherwise be wasted by supermarkets Tesco and Waitrose, who also make generous donations to, for example, our special Christmas meal. We are also fortunate to receive generous donations from Greggs bakery, and our friends are able to take food away with them to keep them going over the weekend.

Volunteers willing to cook or serve the food are welcome to come along any Friday and meet everyone. Anyone in real need is welcome to come and eat with us.
