Dear Friends, The first Sunday of the month is always an exciting one at St Margaret’s, and we have plenty of services this weekend to enjoy. Tomorrow (Saturday) is the Plainchant Mass at 6.30 pm; on Sunday BCP Holy Communion is at 8.00 am, and Breakfast Praise returns from 9.00 am. This Sunday we’re keeping our Harvest Thanksgiving at 10.45 am, and we’ll be joined by a speaker from A Rocha, a Christian charity focussed on care for God’s creation. Mass will be followed by our Harvest Lunch, and if you’re able to bring some food to share, that would be splendid – but I hope you’ll join us regardless. The day concludes with the beauty of Choral Evensong at 6.30 pm. All are very welcome, as always! With my prayers and best wishes, Fr Alex
Dear Friends, I hope you can join us at St Margaret’s on Sunday for one of our beautiful services. We have two Masses: 8.00 am, and 10.45 am – at which we encourage our 9.15 and 10.45 congregations to come together. Evensong concludes the day at 6.30 pm. Please see below for notices, including details of our Harvest Thanksgiving the following Sunday, 4 October, and the bring-and-share lunch afterwards. Please sign up to bring some food if you can. With my prayers and best wishes, Fr Alex
Dear Friends, It would be great to see you this Sunday at one of our three morning Masses (including our Family Mass at 9.15 am) and at Evensong. Tomorrow (Saturday) I give the second of our Heritage Open Days tours at 2.30 pm - all welcome. In a few weeks, on 4 October, we’ll be keeping our Harvest Thanksgiving with a bring-and-share lunch after the 10.45 am. There’s more information below, and a sign-up sheet in church, if you’re able to bring something. I hope to see you soon. With my prayers and best wishes, Fr Alex
Dear Friends This weekend we celebrate the 147th anniversary of the dedication of our beautiful church building. Please join us if you can for our celebrations. We have three Masses, at 8.00 am, 9.15 am (Family Mass) and 10.45 am, and the day concludes with Solemn Evensong and Benediction on the Eve of Holy Cross Day, with some wonderful music from the choir. A cake sale takes place after 9.15 am and 10.45 am – please bring contributions of cakes if you can, or take some away with you afterwards. Our Dedication Festival coincides with the national Heritage Open Days festival, which runs from 11 to 20 September. To join in with this, I’m offering two tours of the church on Saturdays 12 and 19 September, at 2.30 pm, looking at the glass and our beautiful furnishings, and the conservation work we’ve had done recently. All are welcome. There are also newly-printed booklets on various aspects of the building and our worship for people to take away, and of course our building will be open every day as usual for people to enjoy. With my prayers and best wishes,Fr Alex
