Dear Friends,

With great sadness, but with unshakeable hope in the resurrection promises of Our Lord, we share the news that Fr Godfrey Higgins died on Wednesday evening, strengthened by the rites of the Church. We give thanks for his faithful ministry over so many years. Please pray for Fr Godfrey, and for Philippa and the family. We will share funeral details in due course.

I hope you’ll be able to join us for one of our services this Sunday. On the fourth Sunday of the month we encourage our Family Mass and High Mass congregations to come together at 10.45 am – this will be a wonderful Mass to celebrate the Day of Pentecost, and pray for the gift of the Spirit to renew our lives in holiness. (There is no service at 9.15 am this Sunday.)

We will end the day with Solemn Evensong and Benediction at 6.30 pm, with some beautiful music from the choir (including one of my favourite pieces of church music, Elgar’s The Spirit of the Lord).
