Stewardship and outward giving

Stewardship
Christian stewardship is fundamental to our discipleship, and is about using our God-given resources of time, talent and money responsibly in God’s service.  We give thanks for the many ways in which people offer of themselves to support the work of the church here.

It costs around £3500 every week to operate our church activities, maintain our beautiful buildings, and contribute towards the cost of ministry in less affluent parts of the diocese.  We rely on the generosity of our congregation, visitors and supporters, and receive no funding from the central Church or State.

If you would like to make a one-off donation to our church, please click here.  For details on how to make a regular gift to the church, or to leave a gift in your will, please see the two leaflets below.

For more information, please contact the Stewardship Secretary, Alison Stretton: [email protected]  Thank you for your gift.

Outward Giving
We are committed to giving regularly to charities, some of whom are long-standing partners of the church.  This is organised by the Outward Giving Group, and money is predominantly raised through fundraising activities and appeals.  In 2024 the Mission Fund raised/disbursed over £8500 as follows:

- Otley Christian Resources Hub: £900
- Christian Aid: £580
- Link Dioceses: £500
- Diocesan Sudan Link (Harvest Appeal): £1625
- The Children's Society (Christingle Service): £100
- JJ Community Transformation: £200
- Inn Churches: £200
- Martin House Hospice (Christmas Appeal and Christmas Tree Festival): £4442
- Purple Patch: £200

We also administer a Discretionary Fund for those in need in the town, with payments in 2024 totalling £1550.
