Most of our families with younger children attend the weekly Family Service. During the service the children come forward to hear the homily in which they are usually involved.
There are three hymns led by the piano, a small group of instrumentalists and, during school term-time, our children’s choir Cant & Dec. Around once a month they are also joined by our young people’s choir, SMS. On the second Sunday of each month we hold a Family Mass at 9.15am where Holy Communion can be received. Occasionally, baptisms are also held within the Family Service.
The service usually lasts around 35 minutes. Refreshments are served afterwards for all in the Parish Hall.
On most Sunday evenings St Margaret’s Choir leads the traditional service of Evensong from the Book of Common Prayer. The service has a “cathedral style” with the Choir singing the psalm, canticles and anthem, as well as leading the hymns. A homily may be preached.
For the congregation this is a beautiful reflective service which normally lasts around 50 minutes. On Major Feast Days Evensong may be concluded with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
Morning Prayer at 7.45 am (Morning Prayer and Litany on Fridays)
Evening Prayer at 5.15 pm
Morning and Evening Prayer are beautiful, reflective services designed to bookend the day in prayer. Simple plainchant is used, with periods of silence for contemplation. You are welcome to participate in as much or as little of the service as you wish.
Midweek Mass on Tuesday at 6.15pm and Thursday at 11.00am.
Why not spend some time in prayer in our peaceful church?
