St Mary's Oxenhope

A warm welcome awaits you at St Mary's Church in Oxenhope. Whether you are a lifelong Christian or a new believer, whether you want to find out what Christianity is about or are simply looking for a place of sanctuary where you can refresh your spirit, we look forward to welcoming you.

Please do visit us for any service or just simply to find a quiet, special place to spend some time in thought or prayer. Do browse our site to learn a bit more about us or get in touch with us for more information.  Everyone is welcome at our services, whether you’ve been to church before or not.  If you’re not a church regular, have a look at our ‘First Time at St Mary’s’ page to get an idea of what happens in our church services.

Worship takes place every Sunday at 10 am and Wednesday at 9 am, as well as the the last Sunday in the month at 5 pm. On the first Wednesday of the month, the 9 am service is a Book of Common Prayer Holy Communion.

Everyone is welcome to all our services.

We have relaxed our Covid precautions, so that there are designated areas in church for people who would prefer to sit with more space around them, and those who would prefer not to.

If you are feeling ill, have been feeling ill within the previous 7 days, or have a positive Lateral Flow Test, or if any member of your household has, please stay at home.

Sunday services, Morning Prayer on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and Compline (Night Prayer) on Thursdays, are live-streamed. The live-stream can be found on our Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/stmarysoxenhope, at the following times:

Our parish of Oxenhope: St Mary the Virgin is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Leeds’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO, Sue Gibson, on 07779986763 or 01535642684, or [email protected], or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisors Jenny Leccardi, Narinder Lyon, and Carla Derbyshire, Tel: 0113 353 0257 [email protected].
