About Us

St Gabriel's Church is a small, friendly, Community centred Church of England church.  We meet in the St Gabriel’s Centre as our old church building is unsafe.  We offer all the things you'd expect from your local parish church and have a range of elements in our services to suit all experiences and spirituality.  We love welcoming new people; do drop in if you can.

We passionately believe that Christians are called to be a blessing in our neighbourhood, being Christ's hands and feet, through the way we serve and support and community and the worship we offer.  We love to help our neighbours practically and also to celebrate life and provide comfort when life's difficulties overwhelm.

We gather every Sunday morning at 10am for Holy Communion and worship for families and any one else who would like to join us; child friendly, relaxed and fun with crafts, activities, music, bible stories laughter and prayers. We take time to celebrate Communion together around the Lord's table. We have refreshments after the service and celebrate community. Do get in touch if you’d like a chat before you come and join us.

You are very welcome to have your child christened at St Gabriel’s, we have a licence for Weddings and can hold funerals here or our Vicar can come to the Crematorium or a neighbouring church with you.  Just get in touch.

We also meet throughout the week at other times:

Every Wednesday evening we meet online using Zoom at 8pm for  simple evening prayer and chat, and from time to time we run an Alpha Christian Course for those wanting to explore Christianity.

We also meet at other times to eat, laugh and pray.

The work of the St Gabriel’s Centre (which is currently a separate charity)  is a practical way we live out God’s love and care for our community of Weoley Castle through our Youth Work - Centre based and detached and Community work with Love Weoley Castle.
