St Gabriel's Church is a small, friendly, Eucharistic (communion) centred Church of England church. We offer all the things you'd expect from your local parish church and have a range of types of services to suit available time; experiences and spirituality. We love welcoming new people; do drop in if you can.
We passionately believe that Christians are called to be good news in our neighbourhood, being Christ's hands and feet, through the way we serve and support and community and the worship we offer. We love to help our neighbours practically and also to celebrate life and provide comfort when life's difficulties overwhelm.
We meet every Sunday morning 10am for Holy Communion. Children are always welcome.1st, 2nd and 3rd Sunday's of the month there is Amazing Space worship for children in the St Gabriel's Centre during the service. 4th Sundays of the month is our all-together week - a shorter, more informal service. Perfect for families with young children and anyone not familiar with church services.
We also meet throughout the week at other times;
We meet to study the Bible, pray for and support each other on 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month in a local home 6.30-8pm. If you have children they are welcome to come along to play.
Soul:food for everyone meets monthly on a Sunday afternoon at 4pm (second Sunday in the month). Great for people of all ages and particularly families; simple worship, activities, prayers, crafts around sharing a meal together.
On Wednesday mornings 10am at the Centre there is a simple, accessible communion service followed by refreshments. We find carers who come along with those they care for find this a particularly welcoming time.
We meet to pray for our community, our city, our world at 7pm for half an hour every Wed during term time.
The work of the St Gabriel’s Centre is a practical way we live out God’s love and care for our community of Weoley Castle.
