Church of England Diocese of Birmingham St. Bernard Hamstead

St Bernard’s Hamstead B43 5AL

Welcome to our friendly family church ; St.Bernard’s welcomes people from all Christian traditions. We  hold two services each Sunday a 9.00am said Eucharist with  a sermon without hymns and a more lively musical 10.30am service where we enjoy modern and traditional hymns and worship songs ; both of our Sunday Morning services offer Holy Communion or a blessing for those who  are new to the faith or not  yet confirmed in the Church of England  .

We welcome people  from all church styles . We  hold firm to Biblical preaching and teaching   based  firmly on Jesus’s commandment  to “ Love the Lord your God with all your heart , and with all your  soul and with all your mind . This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is this to love your neighbour as yourself “ ( Matthew 22: 37-38 ) .  St. Bernard’s recognises that we are all different and  unique and  we are all made in God’s image ; we are all very precious in His sight . We adhere to  positive and loving attitudes of diversity and inclusion of all of God’s children .

Children and families are very welcome and on the first Sunday of the month we have an  ‘ All Age Worship ‘ service at 10.30am .

We have a great ministry team made up of  licensed lay ministers .  We are currently in interregnum (vacancy) but have visiting Clergy at many of our services, and our licensed readers conduct all other services. We love to encourage people of all ages to explore what God is calling them to do with their  lives and how He is equipping them to serve our Lord and the church . We love discovering hidden God given talents and gifts and building  up the church's Christian fellowship .  We have recently discovered we have lots of musically talented folk in our midst and have very much enjoyed making  music together for our services .  You are very welcome to  join us via Live Streaming @St.Bernard's Church Hamstead Facebook page  or when it is  possible to be back in church why not  join us for Sunday Morning Praise and Worship in church . Please contact us via this page  for further details .
