We have been a Church in this place since 1855. We are described as "An Oasis of Peace and a Powerhouse of Prayer". Although we are quite contemplative in our ways of being and welcome family and children to join us. We believe that children are the Church today and the leaders of the Church tomorrow.

We are a Church that wants everyone to be and feel safe in Church. Our PCC has updated our Parish Safeguarding policy statement and agreed our Domestic Abuse policy in line with National Church of England requirements.
The parish of Smethwick: St Matthew with St Chad is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults.
