Engaging with Nature: Join the Movement This June!

One of A Rocha UK’s firm beliefs is that we are more likely to nurture and defend God’s creation when we take the time to appreciate and enjoy it. Spending time in nature deepens our connection with God’s world and reminds us of our role as stewards of His creation. By joining wider initiatives, we not only take meaningful action but also experience the encouragement of being part of a larger community working towards the same goal.

This June, there are several fantastic opportunities to engage with nature and make a difference:

- Churches Count on Nature (8-16 June): Take part in recording the wildlife in churchyards and green spaces, helping to build a national picture of biodiversity in these sacred spaces.

- 30 Days Wild (throughout June): A challenge to do one ‘wild’ act each day—whether it’s planting flowers, watching birds, or simply taking a mindful walk outdoors.

- The Great Big Green Week (8-16 June): A nationwide celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature. As part of The Great Big Green Week, we’ll be hosting a parish litter pick on 12 June. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a church community, care for our local environment, and take positive action.

Why not challenge yourself to take part in one (or all!) of these initiatives? Whether it’s counting wildlife, making eco-friendly changes at home, or joining a local event, your actions can make a real difference. Whether you join in as an individual, with your household, or as a church group, every small act contributes to a greater impact.

Together, let’s celebrate God’s creation and take steps to protect it for future generations!
