Today, our vicar Jenni along with others joined Bishop Michael for a run from Birmingham Cathedral to Worcester Cathedral to usher in the start of Advent and to fundraise for the Diocese’s link diocese in Malawi.
The day began with Morning Prayer at Birmingham Cathedral, before runners set off on the 30-mile journey, mostly along canal towpaths. The event concluded at Worcester Cathedral with Evening Prayer.
Jenni, who completed the full distance, reflected on the day:
“It was wonderful to be able to share the adventure with colleagues. It’s the farthest I’ve ever ran so was a personal achievement too, and great to be able to help raise money for our partner diocese in Malawi.”
You can donate here (set up by Chris Kennedy who also ran today): https://www.justgiving.com/page/chris-kennedy-667
All funds raised will go directly to support our diocesan partner, including South Lunzu parish where it will help educate 30 orphans who lost their parents to HIV.
Well done to all who ran part or all of the way!
