From Friday 23 to Sunday 25 January, people across the UK will be taking part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch, the world’s largest garden wildlife survey. This annual event is a simple but powerful way to help protect the birds we see around us every day.
Over the past 60 years, the UK has lost an estimated 38 million birds from its skies. Habitat loss, climate change and food shortages are just some of the challenges birds now face. By taking part in the Birdwatch, we can help the RSPB understand how bird numbers are changing and support vital conservation work.
Getting involved is easy. Simply spend one hour counting the birds you see in one location and submit your results to the RSPB. This could be your garden, a balcony, a local park—or you can join us after the service on Sunday 25 January to see what birds we can spot together in the church gardens.
Whether you’re an experienced birdwatcher or just curious, everyone can take part. It’s a lovely way to connect with nature, spend time outdoors, and contribute to caring for God’s creation.

We hope you’ll be able to join in - every bird counted makes a difference.
