A special community screening: The People’s Emergency Briefing.

What’s happening with climate and nature, and what does it mean for everyday life in the UK?

Join us for a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing - an eye-opening 50-minute film bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence and why it matters for things like:

🌧️ Extreme weather
🍞 Food security
🏥 Health
💷 Cost of living

The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, and a range of voices from across the UK.

After the film there will be an open discussion about what it means for our community and what we can do locally.

We will be inviting our local MPs and council representatives, and are optimistic that they will join with constituents for this important discussion about our future.

Seats are free but limited so please book in advance.

Come for a moment of peace and reflection at our church, open every Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm for private prayer, and also after our Sunday morning service until 5:00 pm. Whether you’re looking for a quiet space to meditate, reflect, seek solace, or simply want to have a look around, you are warmly welcomed to visit.

Bring your pets along to our Animal Service! It’s a chance to celebrate the animals we share our lives with and think about how we can care for them. All pets are welcome (just keep them on a lead or in a carrier) or bring a photo, and they can each have a special blessing. We’ll also take a moment to remember much-loved pets who are no longer with us.
The aisle next to the St Katherine’s Chapel will be kept animals free for anyone who needs extra space.

This new 'Woodchips' group is for 0-6 year olds and offers a place where children will grow in confidence, learn about the world and start to understand how to value our planet and each other. We'd love you and your little ones to join us and be part of our community.

We invite all young people in school years 7-11 to our monthly youth group! Come along for an evening filled with food, creative activities, engaging conversations, and fun games. We meet in the hall where we explore what we think about the world together and enjoy each other’s company. All our leaders are DBS checked.

Join us for a special Bat Night as we spend a relaxed and enjoyable 45 minutes together in our church gardens, watching for bats as they emerge at dusk and learning more about these fascinating creatures.

There will be a bat-themed quiz, activities and refreshments.

As an Eco Church, we are keen to encourage and protect bats. Bats play a vital role in our local environment by helping to control insects and contributing to a healthy ecosystem. Our church grounds can provide valuable habitat for wildlife, and this event is a chance to discover how we can care for nature right on our doorstep.

Everyone is warmly welcome to gather with us on Tuesdays in the choir vestry (please enter through the back door). We share in Morning Prayer from Common Worship and enjoy a relaxed time for open reflection and discussion on the day’s readings, along with extemporary prayer. It’s a lovely chance to connect, reflect, and support one another in faith.

Breathing Space is a time to practise the ancient Christian tradition of contemplative silent prayer. It is an invitation to simply be present with God. To discover God’s peace in a noisy world. And when we are at peace we might create ripples of peace in the world around us.

Breathing Space is open to all who are seeking peace, and who long for a deeper connection with God and with others.

The gathering will be held in the vestry. Please enter the church through the back door in the car park. You don’t have to come every time, just come when you can. If you want to know more please speak to Fran.

Thanks to support from Sandwell Council's Go Play Grassroots Programme for 2026–2027, we're delighted to offer free drop-and-go play sessions for children and young people aged 5–12 years who live in Sandwell or up to 16yrs with SEND.

Our experienced playworkers create a welcoming space where children can play freely, make friends, take risks, build confidence, and follow their own ideas. There are no screens, no pressure, and no right or wrong way to play - just plenty of opportunities for fun, creativity, and adventure.

Children will have access to a wide range of indoor and outdoor play experiences, including:

🌟 Large loose parts and open-ended materials
🌟 Sand pit
🌟 Tree swing
🌟 Arts, crafts, making and creating
🌟 Cardboard construction using our Chomp Saws and Makedo tools

FREE Play sessions are designed to give children the time, space, and freedom to play in their own way, supported by trained playworkers in a safe and stimulating environment.

On Sunday 20th September between 9:30am and 6pm there will be various prayer and reflection stations set up around the church garden. All are welcome to drop in at any point to journey with God in our beautiful grounds as part of the season of Creationtide.

Everyone is welcome to our Sunday morning service, where we gather as a community to share in worship and fellowship. During the service, we celebrate Holy Communion, a sacred time when we come together to remember Jesus’ love and sacrifice. It’s a moment for reflection, gratitude, and connection, as we share bread and wine as a symbol of our faith.

The next Fairtrade stall will be available after the service on 27 September, which is during Fairtrade Fortnight. Pam sells food items including tea and coffee, gifts and cards. She accepts cash and card payments.

Supporting Fairtrade helps ensure that farmers and producers receive a fair price for their work, enabling them to improve their livelihoods and invest in their communities.

From spring through autumn, we invite volunteers to help tend the church front gardens on the first Saturday of each month, weather permitting. Whether you're an experienced gardener or just curious to give it a try, you’re warmly welcome to join us for all or part of a session! Some bring their own tools, while others use those we provide at the church—either way, your help makes a difference.

Our neighbouring church, St Mary’s, Bearwood, hosts a monthly Repair Café, usually on the first Saturday of the month. Their skilled repair team is ready to help fix any items you bring, saving the environment, one repair at a time!

St John's Harborne also have a Repair Cafe, usually every second and fourth Saturday in the month. Please do check each church's website before attending in case dates and times change.

Join us for a special service of Choral Evensong on Sunday 4 October at 6.30pm.

The service will be sung by Andromeda, a vocal consort from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, directed by Jessica Johnson, accompanied by their organist.

Choral Evensong offers a reflective and uplifting service of scripture, prayer and beautiful choral singing. Whether you are a regular worshipper, a lover of choral music, or simply curious, all are very welcome.
