Join us for a peaceful midweek Holy Communion service. Held on most Wednesdays, though occasionally, a traditional service of Morning Prayer may be held instead. This peaceful gathering, using Common Worship, offers a time for reflection and spiritual renewal. Whether you're seeking a moment of calm or a deeper connection, you are welcome to join us.

Join us every Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 am for a delightful weekly art and nature playgroup, specially designed for families with children aged 0-5 years. Supported by Arts Council England, this is a wonderful opportunity for little ones to explore their creativity and connect with nature in a fun, nurturing environment.

“Breathing Space” is a new monthly gathering offering a gentle space for contemplative, silent prayer. Rooted in an ancient Christian tradition, this practice invites us to become attentive to the loving presence of God within us and around us, offering moments of stillness and peace in our often noisy and distracted lives.

Each gathering will begin with a short, reflective reading, leading into around 20 minutes of shared silence. During this time, you may follow your breath or quietly recite a simple prayer word to help still the mind and open the heart. We will then finish with 5–10 minutes of relaxed conversation, sharing reflections on the practice if you wish.

Breathing Space is open to all who are seeking peace, and who long for a deeper connection with God and with others.

The gathering will be held in the vestry. Please enter the church through the back door in the car park.

FREE monthly term time play sessions for children aged 5-16 years. These are drop and go (child-only) sessions for children who are confident to attend without their parent/carer.

Sessions will provide a fantastic opportunity for kids to engage in freely chosen, intrinsically motivated, and self-directed play right where they live!

Our play space will include: Den building / Mud kitchen / Large loose parts / Sand pit / Dressing up and role play / Art, creation, and making!

Everyone is warmly welcome to gather with us on Tuesdays in the choir vestry (please enter through the back door). We share in Morning Prayer from Common Worship and enjoy a relaxed time for open reflection and discussion on the day’s readings, along with extemporary prayer. It’s a lovely chance to connect, reflect, and support one another in faith.

Diane, our Curate, and Anglo-Catholic Missioner, Charlotte Gibson lead a Women’s Theology Group fortnightly during term time. The group meets in two friendly settings: on Thursday evenings at St George’s Vicarage, Edgbaston, and on Friday mornings at Evoke Café, Harborne High Street.

The group is open to anyone who identifies as a woman and is 18 years or over. It is ecumenical, welcoming women from a variety of church traditions across the local area. No preparation is needed, and the sessions are suitable for all levels of knowledge and experience. Each meeting stands alone, so you are very welcome to attend whenever you are able.

Together we explore women’s stories in the Bible, reflecting on how God reveals the good news through these stories—to the women in scripture and to ourselves today.

Our Sunday morning Eucharist will include prayers for healing and the anointing of holy oil. All welcome to receive prayer for themselves and/or loved ones.

The RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch is the largest garden wildlife survey in the world, and St Hilda's Eco Group love for us to be a part of it!

Thousands of nature lovers will be counting birds from their gardens, balconies, parks and local green spaces over one weekend.The survey has helped the RSPB to paint a picture of how the UK’s garden birds have been faring since 1979. We can now contribute results that could be used by generations to come.

All are welcome to join us in the grounds of St Hilda’s on Sunday 26th January after the morning service, 12noon - 1pm, and enjoy watching and counting the birds.

Alternatively, you can do your own bird count in your own garden any time during that weekend. See the RSPB website for more information.

Our neighbouring church, St Mary’s, Bearwood, hosts a monthly Repair Café, usually on the first Saturday of the month. Their skilled repair team is ready to help fix any items you bring, saving the environment, one repair at a time!

St John's Harborne also have a Repair Cafe, usually every second and fourth Saturday in the month. Please do check each church's website before attending in case dates and times change.

Everyone is invited to our informal service held on the second Sunday of each month! This is a wonderful opportunity for all ages to come together in a relaxed atmosphere, where we share in worship, music, and engaging activities. It's a time to connect with others, reflect, and celebrate our community.

We invite all young people in school years 7-11 to our monthly youth group! Come along for an evening filled with food, creative activities, engaging conversations, and fun games. We meet in the hall where we explore what we think about the world together and enjoy each other’s company. All our leaders are DBS checked.

Put on your gloves and join us for litter picking as we follow the parish boundary, helping to make our community cleaner and greener. Come along and make a difference! We have a limited number of litter pickers and high vis vests available, bring your own if you have them. Please bring gloves!

As an Eco Church, we believe in caring for God’s creation and standing together for the future of our planet. That’s why we’re inviting you to join us for Earth Hour – a global moment of unity where millions switch off their lights and electrical appliances to shine a spotlight on the climate crisis and nature loss.

For over 15 years, Earth Hour has been a powerful symbol of change, reminding us that small actions can make a big difference. This year, we’d love to spend an hour together sharing stories around a campfire.

We will be gathering at the back of the church. If the weather is poor, we’ll move into the vestry, which can be accessed via the church’s back door.
