The Abbey is open every day (including Saturday and Sunday)

for morning prayer at 8.30am and Evening prayer at 6.00pm.

These services in the morning and evening are mainstay of our parish life and our parish' offerning to God. Everyone is welcome.

Sunday: The Eucharist is celebrated at 10.00 am every week

Getting here

The Abbey was founded in mid 600s whne Editha, Athea and Ossyth set up hermitages on the banks of the river Anker her at Polesworth. The Abbey was active
continuously till 1539. The remains of the Abbey Church,
Cloister, Gateway etc can be seen and access is now
possible to the rebuilt Cloister through the new Sensory
Garden. A guidebook is available and a free information
leaflet is provided to welcome visitors.

Many visitors to Polesworth Abbey come from the canal
which runs through our village between Atherstone and
the Alvecote Marina. Special events include the Summer
