Memorial Service for the Departed - Thursday 4 December, 6:30pm
A gentle, reflective service during Advent to remember loved ones who have died. We will sing familiar carols, read the names of those who have died, and offer a simple act of remembrance. Refreshments afterwards.

Carol Service - Sunday 14 December, 6:30pm
An evening of favourite carols and readings for all ages — a chance for the whole community to sing together and share in the joy of the season. Refreshments afterwards.

‘Angels at the Crib’ Crib Service - Wednesday 24 December, 4:00pm (Christmas Eve)
A friendly, story-led service for children and families, with simple carols and the chance for little ones to take part. Come in costume if you like; everyone is welcome. A short, joyful way to meet the Christ-child together.

Midnight Holy Communion - Wednesday 24 December, 11:00pm (Christmas Eve)
A reflective Communion service to mark the arrival of Christmas. Quiet, reverent, and welcoming to all who wish to celebrate the night.

Christmas Morning Holy Communion - Thursday 25 December, 10:30am (Christmas Day)
A joyful service of Holy Communion to celebrate the birth of Christ.

St James the Great is one of two churches within Shirley Parish, alongside St John the Divine, Tidbury Green. We work together, and alongside Christians of other traditions in Shirley, to know Jesus Christ in our own lives and to make him known through our actions and our words. We welcome all, irrespective of background or belief, to join our worship and/or the other activities and community actions we are involved in.
