In these unusual and difficult times we are all having to reinvent how we do things! The village hall and church will both, sadly, remain closed for weeks to come, but still need to have money raised this year.Whilst the usual fete on the green cannot happen, we have thought of a few fun fundraising ideas for us all to get involved. We will publish details of the events here over the next couple of weeks and how you can join in.There is the cake stall - order cakes from Jenny for delivery/collection on the 20th June.Make a scarecrow and display on your drive to win the most likes for a prize. The exercise challenge needs you to raise a little money from family and friends to sponsor you to do either a walk, run, bike ride or exercise of your choice around the village - details to follow. The White Elephant stall is going to be run by Karen and Steve Pettyfer - but this time items of quality donated will be sold on eBay.Of course the Grand Raffle will take place - you will receive your tickets soon. And there is a new 'hide and seek' around Rushden in pictures - to win a prize too.All ideas and more to be announced will be explained in detail - so please keep a look out here!We hope you enjoy and thank you for hopefully taking part! The entry fees and sponsorship monies raised can be paid directly into the Village hall bank account:Rushden Village CommitteeSort Code: 30-94-30Account No: 01882493We have also set up a donate page atwww.giveasyoulive.com/join/rushdenhertfordshireor if you prefer cash or cheque please contact Sue Whiting 01763 288200Thank you for your support.
In the light of the directive from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York that ‘All Public worship is suspended until further notice’, St Mary's, Rushden, has suspended all public worship for the foreseeable future. Obviously is a drastic measure, not experienced in our lifetime, but if this evil virus is to be contained and eventually suppressed then such a measure must be pursued. At this crucial time, it is important that as a community we help others who are in need or are overcome by the situation. Your full support is very much valued and needed at this time.Fiona, our Rector can be contacted via her email fkwheatley@gmail.com or by phone 01763-284189We are currently holding services over the Zoom Application.
