Aldershot Garrison Churches

Notices Church_news Community_news

There are three Garrison Churches in Aldershot which serve military personnel and their families, alongside support for the veterans community. All three Churches are served by the Royal Army Chaplains’ Department as part of their mission of Caring for the Army's People:

The Royal Garrison Church of All Saints was consecrated as a Church of England building by the the Bishop of Winchester on 29 July 1863 and King George V conveyed the Church its 'Royal' title when he visited the Church for building's Diamond Jubilee in 1923.   The Church hosts a number of high-profile civic and military services each year. It is located on Farnbrough Rd (A325), GU11 1QA. Weekly Sunday Services currently take place at 0930hrs in St Andrew's Garrison Church, due to extensive renovations to the Church building.

The Cathedral Church of St Michael and St George is the Roman Catholic Cathedral for the Bishopric of the Forces. Alongside worship for the local community, it acts as a focal point for Roman Catholic service personnel and their families across the globe. It is located on Queen's Ave (nr the crossroads with Alison's Rd), GU11 2BY.

St Andrew's Garrison Church was dedicated in 1927 as a war memorial to Church of Scotland and kindred churches. It continues today to offer a Presbyterian form of worship at 1100 each Sunday. The Church is also the spiritual home to many British Army cap badges including the Royal Corps of Army Music, who host a number of concerts each year. The church building is located on Queen's Avenue (GU11 2BY) and sits side by side with the Cathedral Church of St Michael and St George.

Our churches partner together regularly for Bible studies, social events and the annual Combined Service of Lessons and Carols. The 'What’s On' page often contains information on services and events at all three Churches, as well as the Aldershot Garrison Hub (1-3 Alanbrooke Rd, GU11 2NS) where the Chaplaincy Team host a number of events, including a monthly Who Let The Dads Out.

If you are on Facebook, both the Aldershot Garrison and the Methodist Church in Aldershot Garrison pages often contain information on Chaplaincy related events.
