At Christ Church we celebrate the Lord’s Supper and re-enact Jesus’ washing of his disciples’ feet at this very special service. This is an event for the whole parish of Great Chesham. If you would like to come forward during the service to have your foot washed, then do make sure you have footwear that can be removed easily, (eg not tights). At the end of the service the lights are gradually dimmed and as the passion narrative is read the church is stripped of all its hangings and ornaments, a very moving experience.

The church will remain open until midnight, for any who wish to stay, for a silent candlelit vigil. You may come and go as you please during this time.
