St George's Church
The village of Rollesby has around 460 households and few amenities, so St George's Church, though remote, is a hub of the community. St George’s not on the main road (A149) but is found a short distance along Fleggburgh Road, which is the left turning at the crossroads before leaving the village. Free parking is available.
St George’s Church is a round tower church, originally built in 12th Century with additions throughout successive centuries and a major restoration in the 19th Century.
The Flegg Group Ormesby Benefice consists of five villages: Ormesby St Margaret, Ormesby St Michael, Scratby, California and Rollesby. Across these five villages are three churches, Ormesby St Margaret, Ormesby St Michael and Rollesby St George. These three beautiful 13th century places of worship serve all the people in all the five villages.
The Benefice is within the Diocese of Norwich, which itself covers most of Norfolk and Suffolk for the Province of Canterbury. The nearby city of Norwich, around twenty miles west has a magnificent cathedral which is seat to the Bishop of Norwich.
