Hertsmere Faith Leaders Against Hate
Following the announcement of Hertsmere’s first permanent mosque and Muslim-led community centre on Maxwell Road, Borehamwood, a diverse coalition of local faith leaders has issued a joint statement strongly condemning a recent surge of toxic online discourse.
Leaders from Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, and interfaith communities have united under the message: "An attack on one is an attack on all. You do not speak for Hertsmere."
The leaders have pledged to:
Call out Islamophobia, antisemitism, and all forms of religious hatred.
Promote peace, unity, and mutual respect across the borough.
Partner with the council, police, and schools to ensure everyone feels safe.
