Hertsmere Faith Leaders Against Hate

Following the announcement of Hertsmere’s first permanent mosque and Muslim-led community centre on Maxwell Road, Borehamwood, a diverse coalition of local faith leaders has issued a joint statement strongly condemning a recent surge of toxic online discourse.

Leaders from Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, and interfaith communities have united under the message: "An attack on one is an attack on all. You do not speak for Hertsmere."

The leaders have pledged to:

  • Call out Islamophobia, antisemitism, and all forms of religious hatred.

  • Promote peace, unity, and mutual respect across the borough.

  • Partner with the council, police, and schools to ensure everyone feels safe.
