Experience the historic building of St Peter's Church by candlelight, where we celebrate the promise of “light in the darkness”. During the town's Festival of Light celebration, we open our doors to the public. Wander around and see the spectacle of thousands of candles in the Gothic architecture, pause for a moment of prayer or contemplation, or just wander around. Hot Glühwein will be on sale, and there may be a musical surprise from our church choir!

Entry is FREE but donations are very welcome - we're raising money to get our leaking fixed!

On Advent Sunday, we look forward to Christmas with readings & choral music celebrating the promise of Christ as a light shining in the darkness. All are welcome to this atmospheric candlelit service.

As Christmas approaches, we hold an evening of festive music with Christmas chart toppers, celebrity readings and congregational carols. Festive music will be performed by the Ridgeway Chorale, John Knowles, Rachel Edmunds and Madalina Turan. Readings will include Bible passages, together with modern yuletide messages evoking thoughtfulness and laughter. Our guest readers will include comedian and broadcaster Robin Ince; TV food and drink host Nigel Barden; Sue Jordan, Mayor of Berkhamsted; Paul Ryan, local business owner; and the Head Boy of Berkhamsted School.

Ticket price include interval mulled wine and a mince pie! All proceeds go to a local charity, the Swan Youth Project.

As we prepare for the joy of Christmas, we welcome the whole community to this service of congregational carol singing. We are joined by the choir of Bridgewater School, Berkhamsted.

A family-friendly re-telling of the Christmas story, with hot chocolate and cookies! Bring a cushion and blanket, your favourite cuddly toy, and wrapped up in your dressing-gown for some candlelit Christmas storytelling.
