At All Souls, we gather to remember loved ones who have passed from this life. As we give thanks and acknowledge our sorrow, we are inspired by the Christian hope for eternal life. During the service there will be an opportunity for everyone to come forward and light a candle in memory of a loved one. The choir will sing the beautiful and moving setting of the Requiem by Maurice Duruflé.
"Rest eternal grant unto them, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace and rise in glory!"
It is our tradition at St Peter’s to read out the names of the departed during the evening service. If you would like to include the name of someone you have lost, whether recently or many years ago, please write their name on the list which will at the back of church.
