About Us

St Cross part of Tring team Parish is inclusive liberal and open to all. (Known affectionately as the small Church with a big heart)

St. Cross is a village church and built in 1877, the church is a small and friendly community which meets every Sunday at 10am.  A small extension was added for the millennium 2000 to provide an improved entrance, kitchen facility, access ramp and toilet to disability standards.

On the first and third Sundays, Holy Communion (Common Worship) is celebrated. Sunday Worship ( a service based on Morning Prayer) is held on the second and fifth Sundays and Worship for All on the fourth.   Each service has sung hymns and afterwards we catch up with each other over tea or coffee.

On Tuesdays (10-30am – noon) we hold a thriving coffee morning which is open to all with some delicious cakes.  On the fourth Tuesday we have a service of Holy Communion (Common Worship) at 10am. preceding the coffee morning.

There are also several special services including:- Easter, Harvest, one for Pets, Rosemary for Remembrance, Christmas Eve Carols, as well as baptisms, weddings and funerals.

The church is open every day ( between 9am and 5pm ) and there is a small lending library for all to use. The building can also be made available for secular uses such as meetings and rehearsals. ( the local choir ‘Sing Wilstone’ currently use it every Tuesday at 7pm during school terms.)
