Church of England Diocese of St.Albans Christ Church, Chorleywood

Christ Church Chorleywood

Please note, that in line with government guidelines, the church building will be opening for private prayer from Tuesday 16th June Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 10am - 2pm. Please do check our website before setting out as these times may change if we have a funeral in church.

The government have announced that from the 4th July places of worship can reopen, in line with social distancing measures. We welcome this move, and from Sunday 5th July we will be holding an outdoor service at 10.30am every week. Please do go to our website for more details as we do need congregation to preregister for the service. We will be fully maintaining our online presence and streaming services each week as well.

10.30AM OUTDOORS SERVICE AT CHRIST CHURCH

I am pleased to welcome you to a special outdoors service at Christ Church this Sunday. As well as the usual streaming of our 8.30am, 10.30am and 6.30pm services on-line, we will be experimenting with one outdoor service at 10.30am in the church grounds. Appropriate hygiene precautions will be observed, and on account of the pandemic, the following arrangements are in place:

As numbers allowed into the church yard are restricted and subject to social distancing, you will need to pre-register to attend via Church Suite / the church calendar event. This will allow us to manage numbers coming into the Churchyard and also keep record of who attends in line with government guidelines. Please do this by Saturday at 5pm.

Full risk assessment has been carried out and we are satisfied that good arrangements are in place, but anyone in the vulnerable category or living with someone in the vulnerable category, is advised not to attend.

Please bring your own chair or blanket, along with an umbrella or sunshade, as we cannot provide seating.

As we are not permitted congregational singing, the music will be provided by our usual 10.30am band with a singer singing solos, visible, but from behind a screen.

While children are welcome, the talk will be for adults, with a children’s slot near the beginning of the service and an activity pack provided to keep children occupied. We also now are able to offer 'Forest Church' for aged 4-10 year and REAL for children aged 10-14 alongside the service.

We are advised to minimise our use of clergy to preserve our capability in event of any quarantine being required, so this Sunday, I will be leading and speaking.

In event of any queries, please do hesitate to contact either Sarah Wright, one or the wardens or myself.

“for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control….” (2 Timothy 1 v7)

Yours in Christ David Hall (Vicar)
