Join us on Sundays at 11 am for our weekly Choral Eucharist, including a Mass setting and Anthem sung by the Cathedral Choir (or Cathedral Singers of Christ Church outside of school term times). Followed by refreshments.
You're never too young to wonder! Wonderlings is our free children's group pre-school children from birth and their adults, which takes place on Mondays during school term-time from 10am-12pm in the Priory Room (just off the cloisters). Expect gathering time with free play, circle time with Bible-themed activities and interactive music making, story time with a thought for the day, and refreshments and a cuppa at the end. We hope that a Wonderlings session will awaken a sense of curiosity and awe in everyone, whatever their age and stage!

This service of Five Lessons and Carols sung by the Cathedral Choir is presented by the Friends of Christ Church Cathedral, whose generosity in support of our mission and ministry is recognised during the service. All are warmly invited to join us, and no booking is required to attend.
Olivier Messiaen’s prayerful organ cycle responding to the birth of Christ forms the heart of this evening’s service which weaves the French composer’s nine musical meditations with readings and prayers. This special service replaces our usual worship offering of Evensong on this day.

Public tickets for our services of Nine Lessons and Carols are now fully booked. We are always delighted that so many of you want to worship together with us at Christmas, and we wish there was a way to fit everyone in! If you were unable to secure a ticket, you might like to join us instead on the 16th December for Five Lessons and Carols sung by the Cathedral Choir and hosted by the Friends of Christ Church Cathedral, or for one of the brilliant carol concerts or other special services taking place here this Christmas. “Yea, Lord, we greet thee, born this happy morning”.In this traditional celebration for Christmas Night, we gather for the first celebration of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The preacher will be The Revd Canon Professor Luke Bretherton.
