Over the years, people have given me obsolete British coins to try to raise money for St Julian’s. I’m now about to bank a lot of them, but before doing so wondered if any of you wanted to buy any? I have half-crowns, florins, shillings, sixpences, threepenny bits, pennies and halfpennies – and a farthing or two. These bear a range of heads, from Victoria to Elizabeth (and one or two before). I also have a few commemorative coins – Churchill crowns, a crown commemorating the late Queen’s Silver Jubilee and a few others. If you want to buy any of these, please email me to make an offer by 20 April at andrewwsharp2014@gmail.com Note that some of the silver coins are pre-1921, with (as I recall) a higher silver content than later ones. Note too that they are all coins which have been in circulation: they are not in mint condition. And if you have any yourself, you’d like to get rid of, please pass them on to me: the money will go to our new windows. Andy Sharp
Please put the date in your diary. There will be a sign-up sheet for names and dietary requirements available soon. If you wish to donate to a leaving gift for Becky, please place it in an envelope marked with “Leaving Gift” and pass it to either of the Churchwardens, Mary Willatt or Alison Pether.
BP (Before Pandemic) we had a group of volunteers who distributed the posters to various places around the parish. This activity stopped abruptly and as we are now AP (After Pandemic), we want to resume this aspect of making the community aware of events and services in the parish. We would be grateful if you can help with this – there is a flier available in each Church listing some of the locations where we can put posters. Many thanks.
