St Mary's Parish Church

Welcome to St Mary's Church, a friendly Anglican community on Watford High Street.

Our beautiful church building is located in the heart of Watford, where the church has been the spiritual centre of the town for over 800 years. Today it is home to a vibrant group of ordinary people who are discovering that Jesus Christ is relevant to the lives of adults and children in the 21st century.

Currently, the Communion Service on Sunday mornings at 10.30 am is both in-person and on-line. There are now spaces for at least 100 people in church so please do come along and join us in person and we are back to singing. If you wish to join us on-line please ask for Zoom joining instructions ([email protected]).

St Mary's Church is open for private prayer on Mondays and Fridays each week between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm and on Wednesdays and Saturdays each week between 12.00 noon and 2.00 pm.  There are people there to welcome you.  You are encouraged to wear a face mask.  There is a service of Holy Communion on Wednesdays which includes an on-screen presentation of the Midweek Meditation at 12.30pm.  The Midweek Meditation is also available on the church Facebook page.

The parish of Watford is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The Diocese of St Albans’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
