Life Events - Baptism
A baptism (or christening as it is also known) is a joyous occasion – an initiation into the Christian faith and the family of God.
Baptisms usually take place during a regular 9.30am Sunday morning service, so that the congregation can welcome the newly-baptised person into the family of the Church. It is possible to arrange a baptism outside of this service.

We baptise people just as Jesus was baptised in the river Jordan by John and you can read the story in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 3. At the end of His earthly life, Jesus instructed His followers, who went on to become his church, to go out into all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
