On Sunday 9th October at 11am at Parish Eucharist
Since 1985, St Peter's Church, a Grade 1 listed building, almost 850 years old, has been the subject of continuous restoration of its fabric.

The Francis Coales Charitable Foundation makes an annual award of the Francis Coales Memorial Chalice to the parish/applicant who in the opinion of its trustees has successfully completed restoration and repair that has met the Foundation’s criteria for Grant Aid.

This year, St Peter's has been awarded the chalice in

"recognition of this remarkable programme of restoration and repair over the years".

The silver chalice is held for one year and commemorates the Foundation’s Founder. It bears the Foundation’s achievement of arms and an inscription, including -
“Remember before God”
It was made by Barry Whitmond, at Burghley House, Stamford. It is intended for use in celebration of Holy Communion.

The Venerable Dave Middlebrook, Archdeacon of Bedford and our new priest-in-charge, Revd. Liz Lavelle will preside at the service, with Revd. Brian Wilcox, a Trustee of the Foundation, preaching. H.M. Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, Mrs Susan Lousada will be in attendance.
