Each year Lent comes round, inviting us into a springtime for the soul. A season to ask God to refresh and renew us. To touch us again with his fire and his love, his truth and his beauty. Maybe after two years of pandemic and lockdowns we can profit from this Lent more than ever. Perhaps seeking God’s energetic and consoling Spirit is what we need more than anything right now after all we’ve been through. Why not ponder how you might spend this Lent 2022 in company with God, to his praise and glory, and for your own growth and wellbeing? There are many things we might do to seek this. Wise counsel says don’t try to do too much. But the seasonal services of the church may be a starting point. Details are on our website. Personal disciplines of prayer and abstinence or fasting can be a strong framework for spiritual growth. But mustn’t become dull duty. Resources are multiple and invite discerning choice. But if study is something that helps you flourish, the Archbishop’s 2022 Lent Book is Isabel Hamley’s Embracing Justice. And Live Lent: Embracing Justice is the title of the Church of England’s Daily Reflection material for this season. #LiveLent Whatever you may do, act with love, hope and joy.
